
Fire in Lassen County town of Susanville destroys 102-year-old mill
April 15, 2026When investigators reviewed camera footage, they determined the fire at an Ohio lumberyard on April 11th was sparked by an electrical component malfunction along the assembly line, igniting a massive blaze that required assistance from 24 different fire departments.

No injuries were reported, but the heart of the facility’s production area was left heavily damaged as flames tore through the site. Fire crews worked for hours to bring the fire under control, using more than 500,000 gallons of water to finally extinguish the blaze. Could THIA have prevented this fire?
