THIA® targets the source of fires as an Autonomous Thermal Activity Detection - Suppression (ATAD-S®) device. This (slow motion) video demonstrates Charles's law related to the volume of gas proportional to temperature. THIA® activates from increases in temperature resulting in pressure increases that cause the device to rupture. Essentially, the entire surface area of the device is a potential release point.

THIA® stands for Tube + Heat = Instant Action and is proudly MADE in the USA. It can detect, prevent, suppress, or extinguish Class A: B : C fires, and/or risks of fire, at stages even prior to ignition using clean agent gas fire suppressants, including FM-200™ and FM-200R™. Both extinguishing agents are non-toxic, non-corrosive, and non-electrically conducive and do not displace oxygen or obstruct vision during deployment unlike dry chemical fire suppression devices.
THIA® is directional to the fire source. It acts in tandem relative to the variables of thermal activity which allows the entire surface area of the tubing to become a potential release point, thus creating a ‘custom nozzle’. The release point expels the extinguishing agent, directly to the highest source of heat. THIA® is automatic and completely autonomous —no manual deployment needed, no canister, no power source—it does the job on its own. There is no risk of human error, and it often does the job before an operator is even aware of any threat.
