🔥 A large trash fire at the Philadelphia Transfer Station broke out around 5:30 p.m. on Thursday and prompted city health officials to warn nearby residents to stay indoors as air quality was investigated.

Officials warned nearby residents to close windows and doors, circulate indoor air with fans, and, if going outside, avoid strenuous activity and wear a mask to reduce unnecessary exposure. Preliminary air tests did not detect any specific contaminants, and the fire department has not yet commented on the cause of the fire. Could THIA have helped prevent air quality concerns?
